What a year this has been! I imagine that there are very few people who won't be happy to see the calendar turn to 2021 ... and yet, God's faithfulness has been evident throughout one of the worst years in recent history. We have also learned in a fresh way many things, such as the importance of being able to worship freely with our church family, of being with our loved ones, and of the many freedoms we were so accustomed to having.
Love Them To Life has never been more relevant to the world in which we live. Although the statistics are still being compiled, we already know that the numbers of people enslaved to drugs and alcohol have risen dramatically. As isolation, job loss, and depression have become even more common, people have especially turned to alcohol to numb the despair they feel.
While the pandemic has prevented us from speaking at churches and presenting our Set Free seminar this year, the ministry continues on as we counsel those in addiction and their families. We have started a Zoom support group for women who have a loved one in addiction, meeting on Monday nights at 7pm. This allows those who don't live in an area close to an in-person support group to still benefit from meeting with others going through the same problems that they are experiencing. If you know of a woman who would benefit from the group, please have them contact us at lovethemtolife@gmail.com for a link to the Zoom meeting.
Our book Beside Still Waters: Discovering Peace in the Midst of Your Child's Addiction has continued to sell well. We were excited to learn that several books were sold in Canada and in Germany this year.
